A probable copper-alloy element from a late early-medieval prick spur with Anglo-Scandinavian decoration, dating from 11th century. The object is cylindrical in section, and with a terminal that divides into two arms. There is a hollow shaft above leading into two decorative crescentic arms, one arching over the other. Each crescentic arm is longitudinally ribbed. The very top of the object is also pierced, allowing something to pass vertically through the entire object. This would seem to suggest its function as some kind of swivel, although being fairly small. A similar object was found at Skendleby, Lincs, recorded on the PAS database as LIN-DC6E82.
