A cast copper alloy double loop annular buckle. The frame is circular with a central bar. The buckle has bevelled sides to the outer frame and strap bar; the frame widens from the front to the back. There is a fragment of pin around the strap bar, it rectangular in cross section, probably cut from copper sheet and 9mm long by 4mm wide by 0.8mm thick. The frame measures 28.4mm in external diameter diameter and is 2.9mm thick. It weighs 4.54grams. These buckles date from circa AD 1350 - 1500. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p45.
