A fragment of a copper alloy Roman bow brooch probably dating from dating from the first or second century. Only the head of the brooch survives. It is 14.2mm long, 18.6mm wide and 9.5mm thick. It has short tubular wings which are decorated with two circumferential raised bands on each wing. A small circular headloop projects upwards. The bow is circular in section and the break is patinated. There is a slot in the tubular wings for the hinged pin which is missing. The exact type of brooch is not certain. It has a patchy green patina.
