A Roman silver finger-ring with D-shaped hoop and broad oval bezel set with a neatly-bevelled carnelian with worn plain polished face.

Date: 2nd - 3rd century AD.

Dimensions: external width 25 mm; internal width 18.2 mm.

Weight: 12.1 g.

Notes:

Twelve late Roman base metal coins submitted with the ring are unlikely to have comprised a hoard and as such fall outside the provisions of the Treasure act 1996.

In terms of age, and as the finger-ring contains a minimum of 10% precious metal, it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
