A copper alloy contemporary copy of a Roman coin; a radiate of Tetricus I or Victorinus, probably VIRTUS AVG type (270 - 273 AD). This "barbarous radiate" was probably struck in 275 - 285 AD when there was a shortage of coinage in Britain. For reference see Sear's "Roman Coins" Volume 3 number 11185 or 11256.
