An incomplete cast copper alloy spoon of Roman date. The fragment comprises the pear-shaped bowl and a short length of the offset handle. It measures 36.6mm by 23mm by 5.1mm and weighs 4.3g. There are traces of silvering or tinning on the front and back of the bowl. The bowl's edge is damaged and uneven on one side. This type of spoon appears to have been in production by the first half of the second century AD (Crummy 1983, p. 69).
