Two animal-head terminals, one slightly larger than the other, from a rectangular drop handle from a chafing dish. They may be from the same vessel or even from the same handle. Each has a circular-section stub emerging from the back of the head, and the larger one has a corner surviving before the break. The heads are made separately, and are oval in section (9 x 12 and 10 x 13 mm); the smaller is 15 mm long and the larger 16 mm long. The heads have engraved details; a line over the brow, broadly fluted diagonal ears behind, and a V-shaped groove on each side representing an open mouth. The larger head also has sub-triangular eyes, and it is orientated so that the corner turns up towards the top of the head. See Egan 1998, p. 175 for parallels. The two fragments weigh 11.8g and 10.14g.
