A lead personal seal matrix of probable 13th to early 14th century date. The object is vesica-shaped and bears the central image of a fleur-de-lys. The legend, when printed, runs clockwise from 12 o'clock and reads (the last few letters of the surname are slightly unclear and may have been misinterpreted): +S'ALICIE.DE VALIER (Seal of Alice of Valier). On the reverse is a damaged lug handle which extends into a tapering, vertically aligned ridge. The seal matrix measures 31.9mm long, 22.2mm wide and 4.7mm thick. The weight is 10.39g.
