Small lead/tin-alloy clapper bell, probably from a belt or strap of animal harness where it was attached with others. The shape, which is similar to Post Medieval and Modern clapper bells found in churches, etc, suggests a date between 1600-1900. The bell is very small and missing its clapper. A hole in the top part of the bell shows where the clapper was attached and probably ripped off when the bell was lost. The surviving bell body is made from a rough casting, displaying decoration of flowers or shrubs, possibly holly. If it is indeed holly or some other Christmas-related evergreen that is depicted on the outside of the bell, it could have possibly come off a winter/Christmas harness and would thus date to Victorian times.
