A medieval copper alloy harness mount dating to the 13th -14th century AD. The mount is a lozenge-shaped plate with central rivet hole (rivet no longer present). The front surface is decorated with a central estoile (an eight pointed cross) with blue enamel in each of the cells between the arms. Approximately 50% of the enamel remains. Traces of gilding are also visible. Ashley (2002:16) notes that estoiles were most likely decorative as opposed to heraldic.
