Fragment of a Roman copper-alloy snake ring of Catherine Johns type Biv (Johns, 1996, p45 fig 3.3). Part of the hoop which is bent back above itself to terminate in a snakes head terminal survives. The hoop is curvilinear, slender and oval in section and the snakes head terminal oval in shape with swellings on its front face and ridges, perhaps representing scales.
