A complete Middle Bronze Age looped palstave axehead of cast copper alloy. It has a narrow, square butt, low tapering flanges, slight lip on the stop-ridge with a complete loop adjoining. This descends to a narrow body divided by single midrib that terminates with a slightly flared blade. The artefact has a green-brown patina with areas of green heavy corrosion and chipping on both faces of the blade. This axehead can be classified according to Rowland's scheme as Class 5 Group 1 (Rowland 1976: 34-36), and dates to the Taunton (c. 1400-1200 BC) or Penard phases of the Bronze Age.
