A Colchester derivative Polden Hill (folded wings, Eastern Group) type copper-alloy Roman bow brooch, incomplete missing spring, pin and catchplate. Part of the semi-cylindircal wings are folded round to form a short fully enclosed section at both ends, which holds the copper-alloy axis bar. The wings have two transverse grooves across their ends. The bow is roughly D-shaped in section and has three longitudinal grooves running down its centre. As there is not trace of a catchplate but a faint longitudinal slot it is likely that the catchplate was seperate and sheet in form. This brooch measures 34.57mm in length and 23.70mm in width.
