Medieval cast copper alloy seal matrix. The matrix is shield shaped, measuring 27.11mm long, 22.53mm wide, 9.25mm thick and weighs 10.07 grams. The reverse has an integrally cast suspension loop. The design (described from the impression) is of a praying figure, kneeling and right facing, with a hand extended over the figure. There is a star behind the figures head, and a crescent moon infront. The legend reads +.:S'IOKIS:DE:hELLES: The matrix is in good condition, with little wear on the surface. The reverse of the matrix has a small amount of corrosion. The matrix has an even grey-brown patina.
