Probably a fragment of an Early Medieval Anglo Saxon strap end. One face bears what may be traces of a panel of crosshatched decoration. While no detail survives of the animal head terminal, its section appears correct for this interpretation. The surviving length is 29.5mm, the width is 10.2mm, the thickness is between 2.1mm to 3.2mm and the weight is 2.30g.
