Post medieval or modern copper alloy rowel spur. The spur is incomplete and has been bent out of shape. One side is complete, undecorated and around 90mm long; it is 9.5mm wide and 4.1mm thick where it meets the neck and 4.1mm wide and 2.4mm thick by the terminal. The terminal is figure of eight shape, the side meets it between the two loops. The terminal is 12.1mm long, 8.0mm wide and 2.5mm thick; the loops are 4.5mm in internal diameter, one loop shows signs of wear. The other side is broken with an old break and only 42.6mm in lengh. The neck is plain, circular in cross section, 13.3mm long and 7.5mm in diameter. The rowel box is also plain, one arm has broken, the other is complete but bent and retains part of the iron pin in the terminal loop. The complete arm is about 12.2mm long and the maximum diameter of the rowel would be about 10mm. The spur weighs 23.93 grams. The plainness of the spur, shortness of the neck and width of the sides suggests an 18th to mid-19th century date.
