Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c, Plate 46. It is 27mm long, 18mm wide and 14mm thick. The brooch is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 7.64grams. The brooch has broad semi-circular wings which contain a spring of 8 coils. The plain bow sits on a large semi-circular protrusion and is oval in section. It tapers gently but is missing its base and catchplate.
