A medieval silver coin; a cut half penny of Henry III (1216 – 1272), short cross coinage (1216 – 1247), probably class 6b (c.1218 – 1223). The coin was probably minted in London and the moneyer was Abel. The coin is 18.4mm long, 8.8mm wide and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.6g. For reference see North Volume 1, number 975.
