An Early Medieval finger ring, made of an orange-red translucent stone, possibly carnelian. The ring is circular with a thickened shoulders that merge into the flat, pointed oval, bezel. It is 13.6mm in internal diameter and 21.8mm in external diameter; It is 3.3mm wide by 4.6mm thick at the point opposite the bezel and 4.7mm wide by 5.4mm thick at the shoulder; it weighs 2.15 grams. The bezel is decorated with two rows of writing between two crosses. The ring was examined by the Near Eastern department of the British Museum who said it was a "signet, with an unread inscription in Pahlavi, possibly a personal name (stone type unidentified). From the second Persian Empire 224-651AD (Sassanian period)"

This coin was found with SUSS-DA6804 and SUSS-D04694. This odd combination of items suggests recent burial of a cache of special items for uncertain reason.
