A copper alloy trade weight from the modern period. The weight is a circular disc with a raised rim on the top face. It weighs 13.7g or 0.48oz and can be interpreted as a half oz weight. It has a diameter of 27.2mm and is 4mm thick. There are three stamps on the top: a quartered shield with a dagger in the top left quarter at 11 o'clock (for the London Guildhall), a sword at 2 o'clock and a ewer (for the Founder's Company, makers of weights) at 7 o'clock. All stamps are the same way up. The Guildhall stamp was only used from 1826 onwards, but at this time the ewer is supposed to have had the date 1826 across it. Compare NARC-AF54F3.
