A large late Roman crossbow brooch in two halves, found separately at different times, and complete save for the pin. The brooch has a complete D-section catchplate which is decorated with a series of notches along both edges. There are three large onion-shaped knobs, one on each end of the sidewings and one above the bow. The slot for the hinged pin survives.
