Copper alloy brooch, hinged Colchester derivative. Missing foot and pin, corroded. The hinge bar is iron. The short wings taper slightly towards the ends and have two moulded ribs with transverse incised hatching. The bow is D-shaped in section, tapered and has slight traces of longitudinal groove(s); in profile the upper bow is thick giving a humped outline. Width 19mm, surviving length 39mm. No close parallels identified, and the general style is more like a rear hook type than known hinged examples.
