Foot and half a bow of a Roman Hod Hill type brooch. Most of the bow, the head, spring and pin are missing, but the lower part of the bow show its knop terminal and the moulded grooved decoration as well as the foot with some open-work decor remaining. The surface is very shiny and the brooch may well have had a tinned surface. Hattatt dates this brooch type to AD 43-65.
