A cast copper alloy single looped D-shaped buckle. The buckle has a narrowed and off-set strap bar. The outer edge of the frame has a pointed-lobe with a pin recess. The pin is missing. The metal has lost most of its original surface and the metal is a dark brownish-green colour and is heavily pitted. This type of buckle dates from circa 1250 – 1500. Parallels for this type of buckle can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p19.
