The blade end fragment of a socketed bronze axe, late bronze age, badly affected by bronze disease in places but traces of irregular largley diagonal abrasion/sharpening marks visible. Dark brown patina, The socket is filled with what appears to be fired clay, presumably residual from the manufacuring process. 43.25mm in width across the blade and 26.54mm in suriving length.
