A complete but very slightly squashed late medieval silver-gilt ‘fide’ finger-ring, the bezel formed of two incised clasped hands with ridged shoulders either side, possibly representing cuffs. The hoop is plain, seemingly of base silver. For 15th-century ‘fide’ finger-rings with clasped hands see Treasure Annual Report 2002, nos. 101, 102.

Notes:

This record was made at a Finds Event (Gosport, 16 July 2007) and may thus fall below our usual standards of recording. As this find was made in the 1980s it was not 'Treasure' under the contemporary common law of Treasure Trove.
