Post medieval mount / strap fitting. This copper alloy mount is sub-lozengeform in plan, norrowing in thickness towards a broken hooked terminal. There are two semi-circular projections half way down its length. There is an integrally cast rivet behind the widest part of the mount, which is circular in cross section before expanding out to form a tear-drop shaped terminal. The surface is worn, and no decoration is visible. The mount has a dark green-black patina with red-brown patches. It is 23.56mm long, 7.41mm wide, 2.40mm thick increasing to 9.13mm takingin to account the rivet. The mount weighs 2.51 grams.
