A silver artefact built up of three superimposed squares, forming a stepped pyramid. Approximately 10 mm square. Reverse plain. This artefact is undiagnostic and correspondingly hard to date. Although there are signs that the object is not machine-made, there is no reason to think that it predates 1706 and it therefore falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996 (Dr Dora Thornton, Curator of Renaissance Collections, The British Museum).
