An end-looped Late Iron Age to early Roman cosmetic mortar with a shallow groove on the upper surface to enable grinding. On one end is a suspension loop, which is broken. On the sides of the mortar and adjacent to the loop on both sides is incised decoration comprising three straight lines forming a zigzag. The mortar is very worn.

Notes:

The mortar forms part of a small isolated group of finds, which includes coins and pottery (2nd -4th century). The collection is unusual for a Wealden site.
