Roman pottery sherds. 1 rim sherd Nene Valley mortarium white ware, flat reeded rim, 1 pedestal base in an oxidised ware - not Much Hadham, possibly Oxford fabric though the form would be unusual or local? - which has been modified after breakage with a flattened roughly horizontal edge (c.f. West Stow Vol. 2 Fig 279 OR1.3 but cut flat at the carination) and 1 rim sherd of a grey ware jar. All probably late Roman - and note that the oxidised ware re-use pattern occurs in a Saxon context at West Stow.
