A curved cast copper-alloy fragment probably from the handle of a medieval vessel, most likely a skillet. The fragment has a semicircular cross-section. Viewed in plan one can see that it tapers slightly from a maximum width of 20.1mm to 19.0mm. The uppermost, widest face is decorated with an incised ring-and-dot design. This design can be seen in an example which can be found illustrated in Margeson (1993, 90; ref. 562) which was found in an early 16th-century context but is likely to date from the previous couple of centuries. The fragment has corroded to a dull grey-green colour, but is far more black on its lower surface.
