A stamped and hammered sheet copper alloy thimble of probable post-medieval date. The thimble has been squashed but is 15.4mm high and the narrow end has a diameter of about 14mm. It weighs 8.3g. It has been made in one piece with a domed top. The hand-punched indentations are in the form of a right-hand spiral and there is no tonsure. The thimble probably dates from the sixteenth or early seventeenth century.
