Tudor copper alloy hooked tag of Read's Class E, Type 5, made from sheet metal with a soldered hollow construction. Length 37.2mm, Width 15.2mm, Thickness 10.1mm, Weight 7.1g. A squashed pentagon in cross-section, it has five longitudinal ridges, each embellished with a pair of grooves, which separate rectangular panels inscribed with triangles containing parallel lines with remains of a white-metal coating on the surface. The reverse has a rectangular cut-out hole and traces of soldering around the base of the separate hook. The central two panels are cut or broken so that each has a V-shaped notch at the end opposite the hook. The surface is corroded, with remnants of green patina especially on the reverse.
