A 13th-century coarseware pitcher broken into fifteen fragments, of which one is from the base, one is from the rim, three are from the handle and ten from the body. The handle sherds fit together into the complete handle, connecting with the rim and one body sherd. The total length of this handle is 195mm. The sherds range in size from 40.3 by 34.0mm, to 106.75 by 69.6mm, with a relatively uniform thickness of around 5.5mm. The handle sherds are thicker, at 22.65mm. There is an oval impressed decoration on the handle, which is overlaid with an incised line decoration; the slashes were also practical, to aid the firing process. There is also decoration just below the rim, with a wave like pattern created by impressing an additional piece of clay at a diagonal angle. The fabric is very sandy with quartz inclusions, and a flint temper has been used. There is a green glaze external on the majority of the sherds, which has been mostly worn away since deposition. The curvature of the rim sherd allows for an estimation of the diameter of the pitcher at c. 140mm.
