Iron Age copper alloy toggle fastener, 29.5mm long, 18mm wide and 12mm in diameter at terminals. The object is in good condition with a brown patina and weighs 16.67 grams. The object has two identical terminals formed of a circle with semi-spherical edges that sits on top of a narrow raised collar. In the centre of the circle is a circular depression surrounding a spherical dome. The main body of the toggle tapers in underneath the terminals and then bulges out again so it in its centre it has the same circumference as the terminals. On one side it is decorated with a circular depression containing a small spherical dome, echoing the terminals. The other side holds the attachment loop. This is very finely worked given it would be partly obscured. It is rectangular in form and section and is made up of two circular rods which merge into each other. Where it curves and joins the main body the rods seperate slightly, forming a triangular shaped recess. The whole of the loop sits on a slightly raised rectangular platform set into the body of the toggle.
