Description of find

Sixteen 3rd century copper alloy radiate coins found together in the same hole, approximately 16 inches deep. The coins all dated from 260 AD - 285 AD. It is therefore likely that they were lost at the same time as a small hoard of coins. Consequently, in terms of age and as there are over 10 copper alloy coins they qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
