Medieval strap clasp of copper alloy, dated to c1300-1450. It Clasp has a sub-rectangular frame, the top and bottom edges outcurved and the bar of circular cross-section. The clasp has a double plate with a single rivet in the centre at the end. The frame has a small, rotating ('folding') sheet-metal end wrapped around the outer edge. This has a fixed bar-mount across it. Length 38.7mm, width 13.4mm, thickness 2.1mm, weight 3.78g Ref. Whitehead, pg 40-41, buckles 226-233.
