A copper alloy Colchester type brooch dating to the first century AD. The brooch possesses two rectangular wings with rounded outer edges. The wings are decorated with vertical incised grooves. An overhead hook extends from the head and rests on the bow. The head extends to an oval section bow which tapers to a pointed foot. The catchplate is triangular and possesses a single circular perforation. The brooch measures 43mm in length and a maximum of 15mm in width.
