Cast copper alloy Colchester two-piece derivative dolphin brooch with spring mechanism. There is a pronounced ridge running down the length of the bow, decorated with a pair of beaded lines each composed of a series of transverse indents. The head of the brooch is twisted at an angle of about 45 degrees to the body. Partial remains of a corroded spring survive. There is a sub-triangular catchplate on the reverse of the foot.
