MOUNT

A cast copper alloy belt mount. The mount comprises of a rounded tear-dropped shaped central element, flanked either side by a rounded knop. Both of the knops have a secondary much smaller knop. The front of the mount is flat and has a random series of incised circles applied to the front central plate. Two small attachment spikes remain in situ on the reverse behind the flanking knops - now broken. These would have held the mount onto either wood or leather. There is corrosion on both sides. The surface of the object is worn. It is a mid greyish-green colour. The mount is 17th – 18th century in date.
