An incomplete cast lead container of probable Post-Medieval date (AD 1500 - AD 1800). Length 30.2mm, width 44.6mm and 28.0mm thick. Weight 45.98g. The base of this container is semi-circular in plan and the incomplete sides flare upwards and outwards. It is assumed that the rim was also semi-circular in plan when the container was complete. The base is largely flat and its width, measured along the straight part, is 36.5mm. On the base, at either end, there is a crudely cast stub which may have been intended to function as a foot. However, both of these stubs are flattened against the base and seem to have been cast as such. It is conceivable that this object may be a feeder for a bird cage. The object is in poor condition and the breaks are ragged and old.
