Fragment of copper alloy purse frame. The frame is curved with a U-shaped section. There is a pattern of incised double saltires (which probably had niello inlay) and engraved zigzags in the lozenge-shaped voids between them. There are circular attachment holes on the inner edge(one complete, one broken and one partial). Ward-Perkins (1940) type A1. Williams Class A1
