BROOCH

Unique ID: SF-F5F525

Object type certainty: Possibly
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete copper-alloy possible brooch, most likely to be post medieval in date. Cross shaped measuring 27.35mm by 28.82mm in size. The front face gas decorative moulding and traces of gilding and in the centre there is an oval setting with the remains of a white paste within it. There is a circular setting in the terminal of each arm of the cross and a smaller setting between each arm. There contain glass white, dark blue and yellow gems. The back face is gilded and there is the remains of two projections from two of the arms, these are next to each other which is strange for an attachment device.
