STRAP FITTING

Copper-alloy strap or belt fitting with three seperate elements, medieval in date. There is a mount, with a square front face and a rectangular shaft which curves backwards and is riveted, via an inetegral rivet to the back of the front face, which measures 23.50mm in length and 14.92mm in width. Hanging from the loop of this mount there is a copper-alloy ring, 15.35mm in external diameter and 9.76mm in internal diameter. Finally hanging from this ring there is an other copper-alloy object with a looped head and two long parallel rectangular arms, which taper to a point. This measures 37.30mm in length and 13.74mm in width.
