A lead alloy circular brooch which probably dates from the late Early-Medieval period, 11th century. It has a diameter of 27.1mm and is 6.5mm thick including the dome; the metal is 1.6mm thick. The border consists of a raised line with a band of raised pellets on either side, larger ones on the outside. The centre of the brooch is domed and is decorated with a single ribbon consisting of two parallel raised lines which is twisted to form six loops grouped in pairs. There is a raised pellet in the centre, one between each pair of loops, one in the centre of each loop and a border formed of one raised pellet next to the loops, and two in the gaps between. The reverse of the brooch is smooth and the centre is concave. There is a single pin lug which is arched over a flat strip of lead which seems to be all that is left of the pin. The catchplate has not survived, but a small part of the flan is bent backwards which could have formed a plate to tuck the pin behind. One edge of the brooch has been bent and straightened which has damaged the otherwise even cream coloured patina. The damage reveals the metal to be dark grey beneath the patina.

Weetch dates this type to the 11th century AD.
