An incomplete cast copper alloy polyhedral-headed pin of probable Roman date (AD 43 – AD 410). Length (if straightened) 41.0mm, maximum width 10.0mm. Weight 10.12g. The pin head is almost cube-shaped and has the corners cut off to form fourteen faces. The head has a length of 10.3mm and a maximum width of 10.0mm. Each face is plain. The stout solid shaft is circular in cross-section and has a diameter of 4.0mm beneath the head but has a diameter of about 5.6mm where there is an old break. The shaft is bent at an angle of about 90° to the perpendicular. There is no indication that the shaft had a collar beneath the head. The piece is corroded but in a stable condition. No patina survives.
