Head fragment of Roman Colchester derivative, Dolphin-type brooch. The bow is decorated with a fairly high ridge, but there was probably no enamel or glass decoration attached to it. The pin and foot are missing, but the spiral (also made from cast cu-alloy) is still in place, as well as the cast cu-alloy cover. The spring cover is plain.
