A complete cast copper-alloy catch-piece from an Anglo-Saxon sleeve or wrist clasp of Hines Class B12 of circa 6th century date (Hines 1993, 46-49). This catch-piece is formed of a cast bar alone, this bar is measures 39.52mm in length and 5.89mm in width, the central integral catch element projects from the centre of the rear edge of the bar from the reverse of a rectangular projecting panel, which including the bar is 12.19mm in width. The bar also has a sewing lug projecting from the inner edge of each of the terminals. The bar is decorated on its front face. The terminals have rectangular raised panels and there is the central rectangulat panel. Between the terminals and the central panel the bar is decorated with five parallel transverse mouldings.
