Part of a leg from a cast copper alloy cooking vessel of medieval or post-medieval date. The leg measures 37.2mm in length, 33mm in width and 16.7mm in thickness. It weighs 71g. The cross-section is D-shaped, with a flat undecorated back and a curving front with five vertical ribs. The D-shaped base is fairly flat and is at a sixty degree angle to the rest of the leg. From the base the leg starts to narrow but widens again after about 25mm. At the top of this wider section the break has occurred. The leg would have been one of three on the complete vessel. Its dimensions and hoof-like form suggest that it came from a post-medieval skillet.
