SLIDE KEY

Unique ID: BUC-5FC392

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A fragment of an iron padlock slide key with a sub-circular bit. The bit has three rectangular holes. The hole nearest the end measures 11 x 7 mm and the two above measure 8 x 7mm each. A fragment of the shank remains (in the same plane as the bit) and is circular in section with a moulded ridge between the bit and the shank. There may be a metallic surface coating on this key. This corresponds to Goodall's type C padlock key (in Biddle 1990, 1022-1024).
